LEARNED

An experience in my life that has changed my life would be my ninth grade basketball season. Our record did not match the way we played. If I remember correctly we won three games in a twenty game season. Now normally when you start losing a lot of games in a season you have two options. One you can either quit or keep fighting. Now during the season we never gave up and got better during practice each day. We had fun doing what we loved and the coaches made it an experience that I will never forget. During the season adversity can hit you multiple times. Typically adversity will bring the best or worst out of the individual. This defines you as a person. During the season I learned many life lessons about myself. During workouts I sprained my foot. I missed out on the first scrimmage. During the basketball season involves plenty of suicides. Except during the ninth grade season you must do wall sits to go along with your suicides. Now during the season you go through plenty of ups and downs. I started down but ended on top. I played the whole season on a sprained ankle. I kept fighting no matter the pain. I learned a lot about myself as a person. I realized the will respond in a positive manner when adversity hits. I realized that my strengths are many others weaknesses. I learned a lot about myself. I learned more about myself during the short season I did during my fifteen years on life. During the season they teach you life lessons. They teach you how to be an adult to try and give you the best opportunity when the real world hits you.

FISHING

For one week my mom’s side of the family gets a cottage on Lake Erie for one whole week. It is nice because where the cottage is at there is no phone service, therefore nobody really uses the phone. The only way to get a hold of someone is by using the cottage landline which is very seldom. It a fun filled week of swimming, kayaking, paddle boating, and fishing nonstop. During the week my uncle decided to rent a boat to take onto Lake Erie to fish. We went to the boating dock to go rent the boat. The time of year was I believe the first week of August. The water was a perfect 76 degrees. We went out to different spots the local fisherman said were hot spots. We went to west pier where was not all that special until we went right next to the pier. I started slamming bass after bass. I think we stayed there for about 10 minutes and I caught a grand total of five bass and 2 perch.
I still remember the calmness of the water. I sun setting in the west, and it glowing on the water. The fish jumping in the air was just a beautiful sight. The hand going down the fish’s throat to grab the hook for a free release, while the worm was still intact in its mouth. Right by the boat there was a dead fish that smelt really bad. It was a raunchy smell that will always stay in my mind. The sliminess with the fish is a feeling the quite enjoy. Once out of the water it squirms around waiting to be set free.
The amount of peacefulness is indescribable when on the water. You don’t have to worry about anyone calling you complaining about what is going on. All have to do is just sit back relax and wait for a bite. Fishing is quite peaceful especially when you have a bunch of things going on in your mind. Everyone once in a while it is nice to just have some alone time to reflect on what you are going through in life. Reflect on whether you have made to right choices or you need to change for the better. Decide whether you have been nice to your friends or just a straight up bitch. Depending upon what you are going through, fishing is just a nice way to relax and just spend some time by yourself.

High School Sports

Throughout high school sports the importance of school spirt can be crucial. The enjoyment of supporting your student athletes in all sports is a fun way to have fun with your friends. As a football player I think the student body this year was amazing, and would like to give back to everyone who participated by cheering at the games with my fellow classmates.

Truth about Christmas

I was in the fouth grade. Leading up towards that I started having stipulations that there was no Santa. That my parents got all of my presents. It was getting towards chirstmas and i was getting curious about what exactly my parents got me. When i walked into my parents bedroom, and proceded towards the back i found all of my presents. After i fould them i then figured out about the fact that santa is not real.
I guess now i finally figured out about that there are two meanings of christmas. Christmas is not just about receiving, but giving. For the past few years we have recently done this program Meals on Wheels once a month, but now i we also do it on Christmas Eve. It is nice seeing the smile on their faces when ever we see them. To me it not only brightens up their christmas, but also ours. I always feel good inside due to the fact of doing a good gesture. We spend time with them talking about everything. Afterwards words cannot explain the amount of appreciation i have towards them, but my parents. They taught me that christmas is not just about presents, but the true meaning is giving.

Memoir revised

A life was cut short. I never really met the guy, but the impact that he had on everyone’s lives was extremely inspirational. He influenced many lives. Although it was a few years ago still I remember as though it was yesterday. Coming home from school during the fall of my eighth grade year. It was about a few weeks after football, so I would just come home from the bus. I walk in the house and my mom told me someone in my family has died. She I remembered exactly who he was. I remember going up to his mother’s cottage on the lake, my aunt. He would then take the kids out tubing and everyone would be smiling having a good time.
The day of the funeral was horrific. He would go to the house he lived in, everyone was very quiet, kids running around playing with their toys. Krispy crème doughnuts lay wide open for everyone to have. After everyone was done we would walk outside where they have limos waiting for everyone in the family. Now this funeral was different than any other funeral. He was not just some average guy; he was a firefighter, who loved serving his city. They had a viewing for everyone to attend; people came pouring in from all walks of life.
After the viewing we piled back in the limo and went straight to the church. Now this trip was not any normal one, there were people piling the streets with signs and such showing their support for the lost firefighter. Going through town it was basically as if the whole city shutdown to pay their respects to a man who gave his life in the line of duty. This moment in my life is one that I shall never forget.
At the church where they held the mass for them we sat in a pew towards the front of the church. If I remember correctly it was a pew in the right middle. The church was packed they had no room for anyone, also the streets outside were packed with all of his supporters that were not able to make it in. The only this I remember about the mass was his son and his speech. I have never seen anyone so strong able to stand up there give his speech and not even shed a tear.
After the mass we then went back into the limo, and again the streets were piled up with supporters. They again had signs and just everyday citizens that did not know the guy sit on the sidewalks just to show their appreciation for what he did. I will never forget driving into the cemetery they had two fire trucks with the American flag strapped in between both high up in the air. During the cemetery they had the family down by where he is being laid to rest. During the cemetery they had five people with their bagpipes play amazing grace. The whole day was sad but memorable. The influence he had on the community was unreal. One thing that I will never forget is the fact that firefighters from all walks of life came in from all walks of life just to be there for their fallen brother.

CUP STACKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today in creative writing we decided to change it up a bit. Instead of continuing with our plays we decided to cup stack. Before we stacked we watched the  cup stacking world record. I must add that her skils we quite impressive. The only downfall was we used styrofome cups that could of cause a delay in ime due o the friction between the cups. Playing the game was fun, it required team work, it made the class more exciting. Although we were having fun there were a few students that could not support the rest of the group. We had them go first, but that didnt work. We tried to them last but that also didnt work. Although we lost all three matches and we basically suck we all had fun. It was a great team effort. Everyone had fun and that is all that matters. Just like teaball everyone gets a trophy. Thats not the case at all. We wanted to DESTROY the competition. Annilate them and take the gold. We lost at that is all that i have to say. Those last few sentences were a total joke. I like switching it up rather than just coming in everyday and continuing on my impressive play i must add.

What am I thankful for?

I am thankful for my family. They have been there for me through everything. Now that I am turing 18 becomeing an offical adult it only makes this year that much special. Getting ready to college not really sure if i am going to miss home. I enjoy being around them, and all they have done for me through sports and school. They have picked me up from sporing events, until i was able to drive. Family is most important it is the foundation of life. If you dont have a well rounded family you will end up not living a happy life.

Future Concerns

My future is very important to me. I am very concerned with money in the future. College is very important to me and am very worried about the amount of money i owe coming out of college. to top all of that the amount of employment within the united states is very low. That only feeds the fire. It just makes me mad working so hard for a masters degree and then just not being able to find a job to pay off my college, rent, food, and clothes. Just thinking about it is very scary. Many teenagers think they have it rough now, just wait unitl they are out in the real world. I guess we should enjoy the time we have it with our parents, cause once we are out on own we will go through many ups and downs like a roller coaster. Just thinking about my future is very scary, and before you know it the time will come.

Locker Searches

Do you think that schools randomly searching students lockers for the day infringes the privacy of the student. What about the fact that when they announce this many students find it hard to concentrate on their studies, and more on the dogs. I feel that it is appropiate for them to do locker searches because many students feel that it is ok fro them to bring drugs to school, but yet it is not. They are degrading the school wheteher they know it or not. Many feel that it is the cool thing to do drugs and sell them while on school grounds. Those students have no life and are worthless. They got nothing else better to do than sell drugs in school, cmon now. I like the fact that the school is doing locker searches because it will slowly, but surely generate the school back to where it once was clean. Many other schools are doing locker seaches and feel that by doing them it is cleaning up the school. It is the school's job to keep the school safe so by doing locker seachers they are keeping the kids safe.
Here are a list of schools in the United States that have been doing locker searches with dogs for drugs. Millburn High in New York, Quakertown High, Vermillion High,  Hilltop High School in California, Chico High, and College Park High School

Money

For the future i am worried how much money i am going to be able to have. Coming out of college i am worried if am going to have enough money as an adult to live off of. With the college debt increasing it makes my decision in life a lot more stressful. With me wanting to become a teacher i am worried because the fact that teachers do not really make bank. The question that i have is do i pursue something that i love and worry about my college debt, or pursue a career that money would never be an issue. Money is not really a problem with me cause i never really spend anything unless i really want to. Money is starting to become big problem for many people considering that fact that the economy is on the decline. I do not beleive that high school would be better if we had more money, i beleive that it would only do many students more harm than good.

Do You Have a Coupon for That? - Busted Halo

This article is about the latest tv show extreme couponing. I personally think that it is great when you can buy 800 dollars worth of groceries and only have to pay 25 dollars. With that said i also think that those people have too much time on their hand, and should put to efforts towards something else. Let me know what you think about these people.

http://rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/blog/prep_rally/post/Tennessee-team-vacates-wins-after-mom-8217-s-Fa?urn=highschool-wp6392

Parents often tell there children to watch what they put on facebook, but in this case it should be the exact opposite. When the mother of two teenage boys post the words of, "How could two rooms be so sloppy if they are only here Saturday and Sunday?"  I guess the two boys were ineligable to play football for the Perry County school in Tennessee. The team was 5-0 and were on there way for the top seed in the playoffs. Now they have to forfeit there wins, and will be now struggling to make the playoffs. The players are still able to keep there stats they accumulated throughout the games, but that is the least of there worries. I guess the motto is that everyone should watch what they post on facebook, even your PARENTS.

15 minutes of torture

On an average day in school my mind goes through many things. I anticipate what football has in store for me after school. What the next class will be like. My mind wonders through many thoughts during an average day in school. With school over and football over my mind just cannot wait until monday night football. When i get home i do my homework. The fact that i cannot wait until kickoff until the final snap. When it is time to go to bed. Going to bed is hard enough. I just lie down and just think for hours on end just basically about my day, and days to come.

Algebra 1 is a challenging class, considering the fact that i took it back in 8th grade. I struggle everyday not understanding what is going on. HAHAHAHA just kidding. It is the foundation for the college career. I wonder what it would be like.

Blogging for 15 minutes is a pain in .............behind. I was able to type nonstop for five minutes then after that it became difficult to try and come up with them. With the fact of that typing for fifteen minutes it difficult it will only benefit me int he long run. I am excited for my future with blogging and enjoying creative writing class.

"Wow!" stated the teacher
"Wow what" echoed the student.
"I am shocked" gnarled the teacher
"What are you talking about" stated the student
Moment of silence
Quickly-just get it over with!
In response, dignity solemnly declared
"Great job. The only one"
Happiness. Dignity. Proud
later tears flying except for one
the disgusted students
except for one
My life is like the ocean blue
Sometimes I am very wavy other times I am calm
as if i'm surrounded by many fish
Why am i scared?
Because i am a little fish
in a BIG pond
In the classroom,
sitting sleepy at my seat
people just talking I want it to stop
then sitting here working quietly

Hands folded neatly, just thinking
for something to write down
looking forward for the lesson to be over
seeing the positive side of poetry
just can't wait till next week

Players running out on the field
the band playing
the crowd roaring
coach giving the ok to run through the banner
the players getting in a circle
getting all riled up
then jogging over to the sideline
the anticipation for the game is over
just waiting to let loose and have fun
A friday night football game
Where was yesterday?
The days fly by so fast
Will tomorrow be better
and wonder about
Whill they understand where I am coming from
a part of me will be lost
The years were the time of my life
Where was yesterday?
